Paula Terrero is a Reiki Master-Teacher born and raised in the Dominican Republic. She migrated to the United States in 1978 where she learned Reiki in 1986. She become a Reiki Master in 1993 and since then she has been teaching continuously in New York City, Detroit, Michigan, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Albuquerque, NM (both in English and Spanish).
Her focus is in the empowerment of people by helping them to rediscover the power to heal innate to all of us. She believes Reiki is a beautiful, gentle yet powerful practice to contact, activate and nurture that power.
Paula is an advocate of grassroots community healing work and as such has participated in many projects including, People’s Health Center in New York City, Kalpulli Izkalli’s Promotoras Tradicionales Project and Casa de Salud in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She is a founder member of the Sacred Spring Reiki Collective –a collective of masters and practitioners practicing a community Reiki model to make Reiki accessible to community members and offering them high-quality services on a donation basis.
Paula has furthered her Reiki training by attending master’s level courses with Hiroshi Doi Sensei (Gendai Reiki), Hyakuten Inamoto Sensei (Komyo Reiki Kay), and Frans Stiene (International House of Reiki). She has also obtained an Energy Medicine Certification from the White Cloud Institute of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Paula is the author of “Sowers of Light” where she shares stories of her Reiki journey.
