Heather McCutcheon is the founder and executive director of the Reiki Brigade, a group of practitioners who promote peace within individuals, communities, and society as a whole via Reiki energy healing. They support non-violence efforts by collaborating with other service organizations, and groups of individuals who experience high levels of stress throughout Chicagoland. Since 2011 they have offered more than 7,000, ten-minute Reiki sessions to Chicago police officers and fire fighters, homeless veterans, medical students and faculty, incarcerated individuals, violence interrupters, at-risk youth, etc.
Heather is approved to offer continuing education to massage therapists and Illinois-licensed LCSWs and LCPCs for her classes and workshops, which are available in person and remotely via Zoom. She has written a book about her path from Reiki skeptic to Reiki activist, and had articles featured in numerous trade publications.
